What's Involved
What happens after the assessment?
If strategies are agreed during the assessment interview and no further research is necessary, the draft report stage can be omitted by mutual consent between the student and the assessor. However, if you require a draft report, there might be more to consider.
After your assessment, steps will be taken to determine what support you require. Find out what this process entails.
Simple Steps
If you do require a draft report
1. Following the assessment interview, the needs assessment report should be sent to you within 10 working days.
2. Please read the report. If you agree with the contents of the report, signed the enclosed agreement form and return it to the Assessment Centre. If you have any queries or if amendments are required, please contact the Assessment Centre. A final report will be issued if any changes are made.
3. The final report will be sent to the Funding Body within 1 working day of receiving your signed agreement, or within 10 working days if we do not hear from you.
4. Once the Funding Body has received a copy of your report, an awards officer will process the report and advise you in writing whether DSA has been granted for any equipment, non-medical help and general costs based on our recommendations.
5. Once ordered, equipment should be despatched within ten working days.
6. You may be invited to provide evaluative feedback on the assessment process and supplier performance.
Informing your Institution
If you have agreed to your institution receiving a copy of your assessment report, it will be sent to your institution at the same time as we despatch it to your Funding Body.
If you do NOT require a draft report
1. Following the assessment interview, the needs assessment report should be sent to you and your sponsor within 10 working days.
2. Once the Funding Body has received a copy of your report, an awards officer will process the report and advise you in writing whether DSA has been granted for any equipment, non-medical help and general costs based on our recommendations.
3. Once ordered, equipment should be despatched within ten working days.
4. You may be invited to provide evaluative feedback on the assessment process and supplier performance.
